It is not that stuffed animals are expected to have brains. People allowing them to pedal bicycles in the Portland Area are at fault. Every week there is yet another stuffed animal bicycle casualty. No one seems to know what to do to prevent it from happening. The idea seems to be a good one until it is put in practice. It rather seems to defy explanation. To be philosophical one probably should just say that people do stupid things. Sigmund Freud said there is no such thing as an accident and that really seems to be the case here. Stuffed animals deserve none of the blame. Everyone of them is a victim.

Lake Oswego has long had the cache' of an upper middle class white Anglo Saxon enclave that does not want the company of everyone from the Portland Metro Area coming in. One can't blame the present day city for trying to protect itself against crowds of non local strangers using their public facilities. Anyone who has been to lake Oswego actual lake knows it is a privately owned body of water that does not welcome the public access in anyway.
