So lets say you pay $2000 in Oregon income taxes in 2021 that would mean you would have to buy so much taxable stuff in the state of Washington to pay the same amount. To find out how much stuff you would have to buy at their 8.5 percent sales tax for the Vancouver, Washington area simply devide that $2000 you pay by the rate of 0.085 to see how much you would have to pay as much in sales tax.
